AMI 2.0

A network decision, not a meter decision.

Strategy and business case

AMI 2.0 is where metering, telecommunications, operational technology, and analytics meet. We frame the program around the capabilities that actually justify it — outage sensing, DER measurement, flexible billing intervals — and quantify the case in terms a board and a regulator both accept.

Requirements and RFP development

We maintain a structured requirements library spanning head-end systems, meter data management, field-area networks, and integration — refined across real Ontario procurements. Your RFP starts from proven material and is tailored in facilitated workshops with your SMEs, not written from a blank page.

Vendor evaluation

We run evidence-based evaluation: structured capability repositories scoring vendors against requirements and use cases, so the shortlist decision is documented, repeatable, and procurement-defensible.

Network strategy

The field-area network outlives any single meter vendor. We assess mesh, cellular, and private-LTE options against coverage, latency, and total cost — and design the communications architecture as an asset in its own right.
